Benefitting from major recent expenditure in the past six years, our ’73 T2 Bay Window bus has been recipient of a full repaint in a tasteful colour, the fitment of a full interior retrim in Bridge of Weir leather in green and cream, and this is extended also to a full width rock and roll bed which has been professionally fitted.
Further enhancements include the fitment of a Bluetooth and SD card enabled stereo, new battery, replacement starter motor, replacement clutch, new tyres and new Scat gear shifter.
There are pictures in the generous history file dated from 2006 which show considerable, and seemingly very necessary, metalwork replacement and welding. The same file demonstrates a continuous schedule of care towards this vehicle, including, as recently as August and October 2018, where some £2,750 was invested to replace outriggers and jacking points, to strengthen inner front valance legs, centre rails and sills, and to tidy and seam-seal other areas of the underside to make good the presentation.
This work continues, and the rear brake cylinders were replaced, both handbrake cables were replaced, and burnt contacts were exchanged to smooth the running of the 2.0 litre engine. Additionally, a useful battery isolator switch was also installed. This has the added benefit of retaining stronger battery power for added oomph to crank the larger engine into life!
This tax exempt bus has valid MOT to October 2019 and is offered in very pleasing all-round condition ready for immediate use. It is accompanied by a Just Kampers full outdoor cover too.
