1963 Triumph TR4

A very bright and tidy Triumph TR4 benefitting from being fitted with the more powerful and responsive 6-cylinder, 2.5 litre TR6 engine and 5-speed gearbox to utilise the added power.  Manufactured in October 1963, like many, our car was delivered new to the USA but was repatriated back to the UK in 1990 where it has remained.

The subject of a detailed, body off restoration and conversion to righthand drive, the extensive work included numerous upgrades including the fitment of a later 6-cyl engine, which was refurbished by Maidstone Sports Cars, now featuring a Stage Two cylinder head, triple SU carburetors, stainless steel six branch inlet manifold and sports exhaust, electronic ignition and baffled sump.

The chassis boasts webs and fillets on all joints and reinforced suspension towers.  The brake and suspension systems have both been substantially uprated and a 68-litre fuel tank installed.

Period Minilite wheels shod with Vredestein 185/15 tyres and invoices totaling close to £14,500, spare key, restoration photos, old invoices, old MOTs, and a current one to November 2017 complete the package.  There is currently a real dearth of sub-£30,000 classic sports cars in the UK market so we’re delighted to offer this turn-key car for immediate Spring use.
