1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint

We’re proud to offer for sale this competitive, proven and turn-key rally entrant which has been subjected to the most rigorous Regularity Rallying Category One restoration in 2012 by Kevin Savage Rally Preparers on a fully restored shell.  This no-expense spared build and maintenance by one of the very best in the business has resulted with what in our opinion is the most well-sorted, stylish and comfortable long-distance or one-day rally entrants money can buy…. and it seriously is cheap money at that when you consider what the cost to replicate today would be!

An ideal steed for Rally of the Tests, Winter Challenge, Classic Marathon etc., our car boasts several class wins, FIVA passport, and finished 3rd overall during its last rally in France in late 2017 on what was then a freshly rebuilt Kevin Savage engine (£7,000!), which still now has travelled just 1,500 miles.

The massive spec of this car includes correct period Alfa 1600cc engine with Cosworth pistons, steel rods, and nitride crank which produces some 155bhp.  This benefits from the aforementioned full rebuild with new piston valves and cams by Savage with only low mileage since, plus, the 5-speed gearbox was rebuilt by Savage in 2015 also.  Our car further benefits from low ratio diff with grippa LSD, rear axle with bigger half-shafts, disc brakes with 3 pot calipers, alloy radiator (painted black to look more period), fully rewired all fused and relayed high-powered alternator, heated front screen, alloy sump and gearbox guard, fully sorted suspension with Spax adjustable shockers, poly-bushed where necessary and rally springs, plus Safety Devices roll cage and Willans harnesses.  Further equipment includes dual alloy fuel tanks with c100 litre capacity combined, twin batteries, Cibie spot lamps, rear Lucas reverse lamp, fully trimmed interior with the most comfortable long-distance Recaro seats you could imagine, plus, Brantz trip and rally timer, stopwatches, and multiple map lights. ….oh, and she looks bloody pretty too!

This is an identical spec car to John Abel’s 2017 Rally of the Tests winning car, and we’re not joking when we confidently claim you could collect this car from our showroom and drive to the starting gate of just about any rally you choose and compete…. and compete strongly too!

Accompanied by a full file of history, receipts, photographs, full spec and some £3,000 worth of alloy wheels and forest/snow/tarmac tyres, not to mention the intact (albeit frost-bitten) original engine, the combined package of this car and spares is a very tempting proposition indeed….

“Cars with a purpose” – that’s our new favourite formula!
