1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint **SOLD**

Interest in classic car touring and regularity rallying has reportedly never been higher, with a handful of new and well-established tour and rally operators consistently delivering exciting and challenging events for all competencies.

To that end, this proven rally-entrant is a near perfect tool to tackle any one of a number of demanding regularity rallies both home or overseas. Subjected to the most rigorous Regularity Rallying Category One restoration in 2012 by Kevin Savage Rally Preparers on a fully restored shell, this is a stylish and comfortable long-distance or one-day rally entrant that has been consistently developed by seasoned rallyists.

Just some of the specification of this car includes correct period Alfa 1600cc engine with Cosworth pistons, steel rods, and nitride crank which produces some 155bhp. The engine was formerly rebuilt with new piston valves and cams by Savage as part of the 2012 restoration, plus, the 5-speed gearbox was rebuilt in 2015 also. Our car further benefits from low ratio diff with gripper LSD, rear axle with bigger half-shafts, disc brakes with 3 pot calipers, alloy radiator (painted black to look more period), fully rewired all fused and relayed high-powered alternator, heated front screen, alloy sump and gearbox guard, fully sorted suspension with Spax adjustable shockers, poly-bushed where necessary and rally springs, plus Safety Devices roll cage and Willans harnesses. Further equipment includes dual alloy fuel tanks with c100 litre capacity combined, twin batteries, Cibie spot lamps, rear Lucas reverse lamp, fully trimmed interior with the most comfortable long-distance Recaro seats you could imagine, plus, Brantz trip and rally timer, stopwatches, and multiple map lights. … As we said earlier, a proven tool!

Very recently this car benefits from a complete brake overhaul, and a top-end engine rebuild also.

It’s no exaggeration to claim that our Alfa Romeo could feasibly be taken directly from our showroom to the starting gate of Rally of the Tests, Winter Challenge, Classic Marathon etc. and compete strongly. This car is accompanied by FIVA passport, a full file of history, receipts, photographs, full spec and some £3,000 worth of alloy wheels and forest/snow/tarmac tyres.

Sold by us to the most recent owner in 2018, we’re delighted to have recently bought it back to re-offer it for its next adventures….
