1953 Bristol 403 Saloon

Our Bristol, believed to be the 10th produced 403, was first registered in June 1953 in Leicester with the original registration ‘KBC 525’ as it still retains today.  One of just 281 Bristol 403’s produced, Chassis #1315 has been the subject of a comprehensive restoration and sympathetic upgrades to make it both safe and reliable in modern traffic.

It is accompanied by four great big files of history, a very important and detailed photo album and what can only be described as a ‘Bible’ running to seventeen pages painstakingly depicting the exact work which has gone into making this the very best Bristol 403 on the market today.

These details centre around the major restoration which took place in Holland between 1987 and 1995 whilst in the ownership of one Mr J.P. Koopmans, an active Bristol Owners Club member and contributor (as well as the author of several technical publications on all things Bristol 403) who went on to own our car for 26 years in total.  It was Mr Koopmans who so generously compiled the full document of what was subjected to his car, copies of which are available digitally to prospective purchasers.

In most recent ownership, ‘KBC 525’ was in 2015 entrusted to the renowned Carosserie Car Company of County Durham for what started as minor paint rectification, and ultimately became a full bare-metal repaint as these matters often do!  In winter 2016, the interior wood was also removed and freshly veneered which sets the tone for the quality of the interior.  The seats are worn and ooze patina, but not torn nor scruffy.  The over-engineered solutions to such minor issues as the sun in your eyes are overcome by the fabulous way even the sun visors operate.  It just screams ‘Bristol’ in all its wonderful eccentricity….

Chassis #1315 is supplied with its original buff log book and instruction manual, spare keys, full workshop manual and many spare mechanical and trim parts, many of which will no doubt be quote unobtainable.

There is literally too much to mention to do justice to this car here, but please contact us for further information.
